May President's Message

By Lyle Kraft on 5/10/21 1:54 PM

Hello NAIFA-ND,

I hope everyone is having a great year and doing well with your business. There is nothing better than being involved with a business model where we can assist and serve our clients to create a better life for themselves and loved ones.

I am going to focus this message with promoting upcoming events. I hope you have all accepted my challenge of attending or getting involved with one NAIFA event every month. The knowledge you receive will help grow your business. Our Programs Chair, Jessica Westgard Larson, works hard to put together one email every month that lists the activities that you can get involved in. Just click and sign up. 😊

The next two NAIFA Live events (hosted by NAIFA National) are scheduled for May 12th and June 9th. This is also the monthly national membership meeting to keep us informed of current events and activities. Just log in as a member to register.

Every year, volunteers have gone to Washington, DC to NAIFA’s Congressional Conference. Some of you may know this as Day on the Hill, or National Fly-In. The group gets the chance to meet personally with all three of our Congressional leaders. The event is virtual this year and available to everyone at no cost. There are seminars you can attend, and a zoom meeting is being organized to visit with our Congressional leaders. Please take advantage of this awesome opportunity to see your NAIFA membership in action! Even if you are unable to attend every session, please sign up for this event and attend what you can.

Whether you golf or not, please consider attending NAIFA-ND’s Annual Golf Classic in Fargo on July 7th and 8th.   If you like to golf, we will find a team for you. I am a terrible golfer, but I enjoy this event every year. Luckily, the tournament uses handicaps for each player. Mine is the max allowed. 😊 Golf will be followed by a social for everyone. We will also have a Quarterly Board Meeting that everyone is welcome to attend. On the morning of the 8th, there will be free Ethics CE for all members. You can attend either day but hope you can join us for both days.

There are many things to get involved with, but the last event I am going to promote is the NAIFA-ND State Convention on September 21-23 in Minot. Please watch for registration to open and register early. Our Programs Team and Minot Affiliate are working hard to put together a great convention. The cost is very reasonable, and the fun is exceptional. I look forward to seeing everyone at the convention.

A big thank you goes out to Tim Deitemeyer and his team of leaders that got together in Bismarck on April 29th and 30th with the focus of putting together a game plan to get sponsors for our organization and the events that we are planning. Please let us know if you or one of your wholesalers would like to be a NAIFA-ND Sponsor.

My wish is that you take the time and make some of these events a priority. Your membership is extremely important and with the national debt where it is today, our industry will need to fight hard to keep all our great products and benefits that we have for our clients. Please encourage others to join our great organization. I look forward to seeing everyone soon either in person or on virtual meetings. Have a great summer everyone!
