The 2026 NAIFA-North Dakota Success Summit brought financial professionals from across the state together for two days of education, innovation, and connection to “Line Up. Focus. Execute.”
The conference opened with educational sessions focused on emerging planning opportunities and regulatory updates. George Bain of Fairway Mortgage explored the strategic role reverse mortgage loans can play as a financial planning tool, while representatives from the North Dakota Insurance Department, Susan Daou and John Arnold, provided attendees with valuable industry and compliance updates impacting professionals across the state.
NAIFA leadership and the future of the profession were also front and center. During the “State of NAIFA” presentation, John Wheeler highlighted the importance of advocacy, professional development, and industry engagement as advisors continue navigating evolving client expectations and regulatory challenges. Wheeler also led a session on “Whole Life as an Asset Class,” encouraging advisors to think more broadly about protection products within long-term financial strategies.
One of the most talked-about portions of the Summit was the two-part presentation, “Master AI and Cutting-edge Tech – The Easy Way,” led by internationally recognized InsurTech innovator Panos Leledakis. His sessions challenged attendees to think differently about artificial intelligence, technology adoption, and the future role of the advisor. Rather than replacing advisors, Leledakis emphasized how AI can enhance efficiency, improve client experiences, and elevate advisors into more strategic, consultative roles.
Additional educational highlights included attorney and financial professional Channing Schmidt’s presentation on estate planning with digital assets — an increasingly important topic as advisors help clients navigate cryptocurrency, online accounts, and digitally stored wealth within modern estate plans.
Beyond the classroom, the Success Summit also delivered valuable networking and relationship-building opportunities. The President’s Reception and charity fundraisers created an atmosphere of camaraderie, collaboration, and purpose among attendees. Through the generosity of participants and supporters, the Summit raised $1,000 for the Life Lessons Scholarship Program and $1,000 for Make-A-Wish North Dakota, supporting both future students and children facing critical illnesses.
As the Summit concluded, attendees left with more than continuing education credits. They departed with fresh ideas, new connections, and renewed momentum to better serve their clients and communities.
NAIFA-North Dakota extends its appreciation to all speakers, sponsor partners, and attendees who helped make the 2026 Success Summit a success.
